“We believe SaludToday is helping to influence individual and collective health knowledge, improve attitudes and promote healthy behaviors and a culture of health, which may ultimately lead to prevention of disease,” Ramirez said. “We’re grateful for LATISM’s recognition, alongside such great organizations like the Office of Minority Health.”

SaludToday curates stories about peer models who’ve made healthy behavior changes, recent health news, useful resources, and entertaining multimedia products.

Our weekly Tweetchat series, #SaludTues at 1 p.m. EST each Tuesday, generates conversation, problem-solving, and resource-sharing across Latino health topics.

We’re headquartered at Ramirez’s Institute for Health Promotion Research at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. Our major research projects includes ones on Latino childhood obesity (Salud America!, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation), cancer prevention (Redes, funded by the National Cancer Institute), and leadership training (Exito!, funded by the National Cancer Institute).
